Asus - You’re on your own
The main reason why I’m giving this laptop one star has to do with Asus’s customer/technical support. It’s non-existent. I had several problems with my laptop and called for support. The first level of technical support cannot even answer rudimentary questions, the ones that anyone who’s heard of Google could handle. Over two months ago, I placed several calls (escalating two of them) and was told that 1. a supervisor would call, and 2. a tech specialist would call. Despite their assurances I NEVER RECEIVED A CALL BACK. If you buy any Asus product you can forget about their two year warranty. I am now experiencing other problems with this laptop but have not bothered to call in; I am researching them on my own. If you buy any Asus product go into it with eyes wide open - the only support you’ll get is what you find out yourself.

Nice computer but have had some problems
After receiving ASUS UL50AG-A1 I booted it up which proved to be quite easy. The keyboard took a little getting
used to since the keys are very close together and appear to be too far to the left. The computer would often shut down in the middle of a task to install updates which was very frustrating. Another problem I encountered: I was preparing a Power Point presentation and when I tried to made corrections to the text, it would insert a Chinese translation for my text even though I did not request that. All my efforts to remove the Chinese translation proved futile so I ended up re-doing the presentation with the corrections. I have not tested the battery life to see if it lives up to the 11 hour limit but it seems to last a long time while unplugged and I have had no problems with the battery.
I am still undecided whether I will keep it - I need to see if I can get some of the kinks out of it.

ASUS makes a good job
Since I bought this laptop, I decide for the brand name. I use it for a designer work. This machine came with Vista OS and the promise to obtain W7 free with registration. I receive 3 days later a dvd to upgrade the OS. Excellent until this point. 2 days more to upgrade the laptop won’t start. I make a call to the Assistant service. They gave me a RMA number. 10 days later I receive the same machine with a technical report “corrupt OS. Reinstall Windows Vista”. Until today the computer works excellent. I am afraid to put the upgrade to W7 because I think it was the reason of the previous crash.
The laptop is beautiful, thin and light. I bought this in a third party store. BUY.COM.(I recommend you read well the warranty policy in this site.) They send me the equipment well packed, signature confirmation FED.EX third day, at house front door. Really an awesome service. Thank’s to all(AMAZON.COM; BUY.COM and the technician service of ASUS). God Bess America.
